Louis Leo Jacobs (born August 27, 1948) is an American vertebrate paleontologist who discovered ''Malawisaurus'' while on an expedition in Malawi.〔("Dinosaur hunters in and of Africa" ), ''The Complete Dinosaur'' by James O. Farlow and M. K. Brett-Surman, Indiana University Press, 1999, Pg. 47〕 Much of his research concerns the interrelationships of biotic and abiotic events through time. In recent years he has focused on the middle portion of the Cretaceous and the Cenozoic, especially with respect to terrestrial ecosystems.〔("Louis L. His fieldwork is currently focused in Angola, Antarctica, Alaska, and Mongolia. ==Career== He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. While he was accomplishing this, Jacobs was also working with Kenyan anthropologist Richard Leakey.
